South West Rocks is situated only a short drive off the Pacific Highway between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. South West Rocks is a beautiful seaside holiday village that is home to the best beaches and scenic views on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales

The crystal clear waters of Trial Bay or Horseshoe Bay, are ideal swimming for the family with small children. For the more experienced surfers the beaches to visit include Smoky Cape Beach, The Gap and Little Bay.
If you are feeling energetic you can hire catamarans, windsurfers, surf skis, stand-up paddle boards, pushbikes, diving equipment, small fishing boats or hire a fishing charter to go deep sea fishing.
If you would like to just relax, you can lay on one of our beautiful beaches or you can fish the banks of the Macleay River or any of our pristine beaches, as South West Rocks is renowned as one of the best fishing spots on the east coast.
The historic Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse, and the walking trails through the Arakoon State Recreation Park are just a few of the natural attractions on offer. Explore the Rocky headlands, unspoiled beaches or just sit back and enjoy spectacular scenery around you.
Our sub-tropical climate has mild winters and moderate summers, offering crystal clear waters in which to swim, making South West Rocks a beautiful holiday destination all year round.
Most of our accommodation is centrally located to the town centre, beaches, restaurants and facilities.

Recently renovated, easy on eye but NOT comfortable nor practical.
Jenny H - 12th April 2025We've been staying in this unit every year for the past 20 years and were disappointed this time. The recent renovations are nice—especially the new vertical blinds—but some key areas were missed. The back doors and veranda haven’t been updated, and there’s no air conditioning in the back two bedrooms. The bedding and lounge were also very low and not comfortable to use. The new front glass doors look great but don’t have a screen, so flies and mozzies got in. There’s no proper storage for the vacuum, mop, or broom.

Alan W - 25th May 2024We like staying at Tradewinds 1, it is comfortable and the location is perfect to everything we need. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Staff at LJ Hooker are always helpful and pleasant. Lovely to see the car park clean from the the mess the birds make.

Micw - 29th June 2020We have stayed at various Trade Winds apartments over the years. The best location in SWR. This apartment needs the air con needs replacing - loud screeching noise which was unbearable after a while. Wifi needed and just a few basic things like a cloth to wipe down benches etc. You cant beat the views and the layout of these apartments is great. Fabulous balcony.

Diane - 16th March 2019We have stayed at Tradewinds for over 10 years This was the 1st time we rented this unit and will be again next year It is well equipped and apart from the sounds of nature it is sound proof if that makes sense Each bedroom has a tv and ceiling fans Lounge room has aircon We did mention a few problems but rental agency is attending to the minor issue We never have an issue with this agency Can’t wait to stay here again
