South West Rocks is situated only a short drive off the Pacific Highway between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. South West Rocks is a beautiful seaside holiday village that is home to the best beaches and scenic views on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
The crystal clear waters of Trial Bay or Horseshoe Bay, are ideal swimming for the family with small children. For the more experienced surfers the beaches to visit include Smoky Cape Beach, The Gap and Little Bay.
If you are feeling energetic you can hire catamarans, windsurfers, surf skis, stand-up paddle boards, pushbikes, diving equipment, small fishing boats or hire a fishing charter to go deep sea fishing.
If you would like to just relax, you can lay on one of our beautiful beaches or you can fish the banks of the Macleay River or any of our pristine beaches, as South West Rocks is renowned as one of the best fishing spots on the east coast.
The historic Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse, and the walking trails through the Arakoon State Recreation Park are just a few of the natural attractions on offer. Explore the Rocky headlands, unspoiled beaches or just sit back and enjoy spectacular scenery around you.

Great location, but unit needs a good clean. Oven door does not close and toaster,jug and frying pans need replacing. Queen bed in 2nd bedroom is unusable, so this is really only a 2bedroom unit,until it is replaced-we had to buy single bed sheets and use the beds in the 3rd bedroom

Perfect spot for a SWR holiday. Close enough to everything you’d want to be close to, but far enough away that you don’t feel like you’re in the middle of everything.

The unit was well equipped however it would benefit from some usable outdoor furniture particularly lounge chairs The dining table that was indoors was actually an outdoor table.
Dirty, outdated and poorly maintained UnitChris - 5th January 2019
Booked this unit for a Family Christmas. On first impression the unit is outdated, needs a good paint and clean. When we arrived the air conditioning was dripping and not working. On inspection the filters were caked with dust as well as whole unit. Cleaned this ourselves . Kitchen cupboards and units were all dirty and equipment just thrown in cupboards. Limited kitchen equipment which was disappointing when you travel 600km and are preparing Christmas lunch . Fridge didn’t work and on close inspection the thermostat had 20cm of ice caked on it. Under fridge dirty and broken glass left under it.Cleaned it as well as cupboards. Sliding doors didn’t roll properly due to build up of grit. All windows filthy . Back queen bed disgusting and all doona covers stained as well as pillows on lounge .. Re washed all . Lounge was filthy and needed vacuuming. All fans in Unit covered in thick dust. The best to last the BBQ .. Absolutely disgraceful. Plate and grill revolting and BBQ filthy. The positive :Main bedroom bed was comfortable. Position to beach and Main Street fabulous. As I wanted a quiet week for Christmas I didn’t consult real estate until 2 days before we left. I felt that the issues should of been addressed way before our booking and was poor on everyone’s behalf.. The real estate has refunded the cleaning fee but at $1970 per week this is a token gesture. Would not book again
