South West Rocks is situated only a short drive off the Pacific Highway between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie. South West Rocks is a beautiful seaside holiday village that is home to the best beaches and scenic views on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.
The crystal clear waters of Trial Bay or Horseshoe Bay, are ideal swimming for the family with small children. For the more experienced surfers the beaches to visit include Smoky Cape Beach, The Gap and Little Bay.
If you are feeling energetic you can hire catamarans, windsurfers, surf skis, stand-up paddle boards, pushbikes, diving equipment, small fishing boats or hire a fishing charter to go deep sea fishing.
If you would like to just relax, you can lay on one of our beautiful beaches or you can fish the banks of the Macleay River or any of our pristine beaches, as South West Rocks is renowned as one of the best fishing spots on the east coast.
The historic Trial Bay Gaol, Smoky Cape Lighthouse, and the walking trails through the Arakoon State Recreation Park are just a few of the natural attractions on offer. Explore the Rocky headlands, unspoiled beaches or just sit back and enjoy spectacular scenery around you.
Our sub-tropical climate has mild winters and moderate summers, offering crystal clear waters in which to swim, making South West Rocks a beautiful holiday destination all year round.
Most of our accommodation is centrally located to the town centre, beaches, restaurants and facilities.

Wonderful location
Sue - 8th February 2020We stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks & will be back next year. The apartment is well stocked and clean. The owner supplied the linen & the beds were all made up when we arrived. This is a huge benefit particularly in South West Rocks where it is very rare to rent an apartment where the linen is provided. The kitchen & bathrooms are a little dated but new appliances were installed last year. South West Rocks seems to have overpriced rental rates and they have been increased again for next year. It’s only that we love the place and have been going for many years that we keep returning. However for the price of renting an apartment for 4 weeks we could take the whole family to Fiji for less.

Madeleine - 7th December 2019Our stay in Tradewinds 3 is the breath of fresh air and relaxation we long for every year. The location is so ideal and we are always sad to leave after only a week as we usually spend three weeks in the Rocks every year.

Madeleine - 9th December 2018We stay at South West Rocks in December, every year. Tradewinds is our favourite accommodation and we’d love to get another two weeks in it next year (but everyone else also loves it and keep rebooking, haha)
